Assets Diagnostics Expert (Marine) 

 

We are looking for an Assets Diagnostics Expert with a main responsibility in delivering asset diagnostic services on our 2 stroke engines through continuously follow-up performance of installed assets, by giving technical support advises and delivering reports to our customers under a lifecycle solution. You will continuously improve our services and documentation, e.g. by participating in the introduction of new solutions related to condition monitoring and asset diagnostic. You will work as an innovative and informative technical expert in close collaboration with Wärtsilä stakeholders across our Marine business.

 

The preferred location for this position is in Frauenfeld, Switzerland but also Hamburg, Germany is negotiable.

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As an Assets Diagnostics Expert your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • You provide high-quality data analysis (engineer performance, fluids, piston running etc.) and create reports to support equipment maintenance.
  • You provide technical support in your areas of expertise.
  • You participate in the development of maintenance and asset management concepts that further enhance the business of Wärtsilä customers.
  • You proactively provide technical support to Wärtsilä’s sales (support) organisations to improve the success rate of the offering process such as creating content for service delivery related information e.g. Classification quality documents, User Guides.
  • You attend visits and/or customer when deeper product, system and/or operational performance analysis is needed.

 

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chief Engineer or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Proven reporting and analytical skills.
  • Experience of Marine and/or Power Plant installations, engines, auxiliary systems, and processes with good understanding of our customers business.
  • Good negotiation skills and capability to see the big picture.
  • Good skills in communication, customer orientation and self-management.

 

As an ideal candidate you might also have… 

 

  • Experience in using equipment monitoring tools and HMI’s is of advantage.
  • Knowledge in engine and/or system performance and related analytics is seen as a merit.
  • Proactive, systematic, and organized way of working.
  • Open to learn, adapt and develop to new technologies.
