We are now looking for a 

 

Material Expert

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Surgères, France. This entity is dedicated to the complete services of the equipment which can go up to the reconditioning of the emergency engines for certain nuclear power plants in the world and that of the engine of the Leclerc tank for the French army.

 

What you will be doing 

 

The position is dedicated to the Special Applications (SA) perimeter of Wärtsilä (military and nuclear). You will take care of the management of technical documentation related to component materials and define material requirements in order to obtain a product that meets expectations and verify that these requirements are met. Carrying out metallurgical expertise with drafting of reports.


As Material Expert your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Advise and assist the QPTM team and the Supply Management Special Applications (SA) department during supplier changes (obsolescence) or during material developments, with validation from the Senior Material Expert.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation for the supply of new parts (paragraph "materials and manufacturing processes") containing the product definition requirements, for suppliers, 
  • Prepare and carry out, with the help of the equipment at your disposal, metallographic expertise on new components (within the framework of a "design change" validation of a component, interface with Supply Management - QPTM), as part of a verification of the characteristics of a new component in CGD, interface with Contract Management) or in return for customers (following damage or specific request with customer order, interface with Contract Management - QPTM), 
  • Write technical reports (validation of the product supplied, verification that the product meets the requirements of the technical specification of supply) following the expertise carried out (10 to 15 per year). Reports distributed internally and then to suppliers and customers according to the expertise requested,

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have: 

 

  • Bac. Degree + 2 years
  • Work experience of 3-5 years 
  • Diesel engine technical expertise, Nuclear business expertise is a plus
  • Understand and Knowing the different techniques of non-destructive and destructive testing
  • English skills Intermediate B2 minimum
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of SAP (Beginner)
  • Ability to convince your interlocutors
  • Team spirit and interpersonal skills
  • A sense of service
  • Ability to optimize the existing

 

In this role, some travel is required. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 6x per year (technical audits, technical validation of suppliers).

Cette entité est dédiée aux services complets des équipements pouvant aller jusqu’au reconditionnement des moteurs de secours pour certaines centrales nucléaires dans le monde et celui du moteur du char Leclerc pour l’armée Française.

 

Votre travail se concentrer sur les responsabilités suivantes: 


⦁    Conseiller et Assister l'équipe QPTM ainsi que le service Supply Management Special Applications (SA) lors des changements de fournisseurs (obsolescence) ou lors des évolutions matière, avec validation du Senior Material Expert.
⦁    Maintien à jour de la documentation technique d'approvisionnement des pièces neuves (paragraphes "matériaux et procédés de fabrication") contenant les exigences de définition du produit, à destination des fournisseurs, 
⦁    Préparer et réaliser, à l’aide du matériel mis à votre disposition, des expertises métallographiques sur des composants neufs (dans le cadre d'une validation de "design change" d'un composant, interface avec Supply Management-reste de QPTM, dans le cadre d'une vérification des caractéristiques d'un composant neuf en CGD, interface avec Contract Management) ou en retour clients (suite avarie ou demande spécifique avec commande client, interface avec Contract Management-reste de QPTM), 
⦁    Rédiger des rapports techniques (validation du produit fourni, vérification que le produit répond aux exigences de la spécification technique d'approvisionnement) suite aux expertises réalisées (10 à 15 par an). Rapports diffusés en interne puis vers les fournisseurs et les clients selon les expertises demandées,

⦁    Bac +2
⦁    Expertise 3-5 ans
⦁    Connaissance moteur Diesel et business Nucléaire est en plus
⦁    Maîtrise des différentes techniques de contrôles non destructifs et destructifs
⦁    Intermédiaire English Competencies ( mini B2)
⦁    Competencies avancé Pack Office
⦁    Capacité à convaincre ses interlocuteurs
⦁    Esprit d’équipe et capacité relationnelle, vous avez le sens du service
⦁    Capacité à optimiser l’existant

 

Dans ce rôle, des déplacements sont nécessaires, nous espérons donc que vous serez prêt(e) à voyager environ 6x par an (audits techniques, validation techniques de fournisseurs).
