We are now looking for an Automation & Instrument Engineer to join our Test Team RTX5 team working on Two-Stroke development technology.

 

The preferred location for the position is in Trieste, Italy.

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have understanding in electrical and instrumentation. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience in the field during some years, but we are open to consider younger candidates, too.

 

As an Automation & Instrument Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Set up the measurement chain:
    • Calibration of different transducer types.
    • Preparation of the measurement project with Dewesoft, National Instrument (LabVIEW programming) and AVL acquisition systems.
  • Writing the measurement report in the English language.
  • Take part in field testing and commissioning activities by developing test plans and collaborating with the field engineering team to execute and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Downloading Engine software from UNIC / WICE / WECS engine automation systems.
  • Develop, improve, coordinate and deploy systems according to our internal standards, process and project requirements.
  • Organize electrical cabling.
  • Order and maintain the material: sensors, cables and devices need.

 

Requirements for the position

 

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical/Power System Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering; we are also open to consider Technical School Degree in Electronics/Mechatronics.
  • Understanding of fundamental electrical engineering.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Proactive approach to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary global team.
  • Innovation skills to meet new challenges.
  • Problem solving.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of Italian or German is a plus.

 

In this role, travels are required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 50% of the working time.
