CNC Machinist – Lock-N-Stitch, Inc. (Turlock, CA)


Wartsilä's Lock-N-Stitch, Inc. (LNS) specializes in all aspects of the repair of cracked and damaged cast iron and other cast metals. LNS manufactures crack and thread repair products, provides training in crack repair techniques and maintains a full-service repair department that performs repairs all over the world and has the benefit of over thirty years of experience.
  Lock-N-Stitch, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a CNC Machinist position located in Turlock, CA.  We are seeking to find an energetic, positive, customer-oriented and proactive individual.  The CNC Machinist will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible to produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
·       Program and operate CNC lathes and mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs with the ability to hold close tolerances.
·       Sets-up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices.
·       Sets-up Mills by installing, tools, attachments, fixtures, soft jaws, stops
·       Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
·       Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to standards.
·       Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
·       Performs in process inspection of parts


Secondary Functions:  
·       Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
·       Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
·       Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
·       Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
 
 
Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements: 
 
·       H.S. Diploma, Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a CNC Programmer and Machinist.                            

·       Familiarity with Fanuc G & M code based programming.                                                 
·       Conceptual skills, process improvement, inventory control, tooling methods.
·       Must have strong knowledge CNC Controls and programming. ·       Complete company records accurately and in a timely manner.
·       Complete all internal control records, forms, and procedures properly and accurately.
·       Will require strong reading, writing and arithmetic skills, and must have good functional knowledge of common office computer systems and basic working knowledge of electronic media tools (camera & picture files)
·       Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
·       Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
·       Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of LNS.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.  Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
