Within Ship Electrification Solutions (SES) we are a world-leading total supplier of electric and hybrid solutions for the marine industry. Our products range from Shaft Generators, Electric Propulsion Systems to Hybrid Solutions and shore power. We are planning to strengthen our energetic, ambitious, and enthusiastic team with a Manager of the Electric and Hybrid Project Delivery team with knowledge of the marine industry as well as electrical power systems.
 
As Manager, Electric and Hybrid Project Delivery you will have personnel responsibility for the team of professionals including project managers, coordinators, document controllers and project support functions whilst overseeing the global portfolio of battery hybrid and full electric solutions to both the newbuild ships and retrofit. You will also have the opportunity to shape the project management function within Ship Electrification Solutions assuming the role of project management function lead across the delivery teams. 
 
This is a permanent position based in  Stord, Norway. 

 

Your main focus in this position will be:

 

  • Lead the assigned team of project managers, document controllers and project support 
  • Develop your team technically and professionally to ensure customer focus and successful project delivery
  • Ensuring a high degree of communication is maintained with the team to execute on the Wärtsilä and SES strategy. 
  • Maintaining an overview of the order book of projects led by your team including risks and schedule
  • Taking action with the team to achieve SES and Wärtsilä KPI’s relevant to your scope
  • Oversee the project management function in SES by defining ways of working in the project delivery manual and facilitating follow-up of key PM metrics (for example milestone achievement)
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders from suppliers to customers
  • Actively participate in sales support, bid work, and customer visits.

 
To be successful in this role, you should have:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an electrical / systems/automation field
  • Experience with integrating marine electrical / automation systems
  • Experience as a project manager
  • Good business sense
  • Understanding of the key project methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBoK
  • Good language skills in both spoken and written English
  • Language skills in Norwegian is a benefit but not required
