The importance of power plant performance has been recognized recently because good performance can contribute overall energy efficiency & Reliability, reduce fuel costs and reduce CO2 emissions. The steam turbine & HRSG  are the critical equipment for Wartsila combine cycle power plant. Its performance and reliability relate directly to the performance and reliability of the power plant that it serves. The actions of the turbine performance experts are crucial to its high level of performance. 


We are seeking a Performance Expert Steam Turbines & HRSG  Systems with extensive related experience and strong technical skills/capabilities. This positing we are planning to have in AMER region.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparing, planning, and executing thermal performance tests on steam turbines & HRSG to ensure they operate efficiently and meet design specifications.
  • Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal operation.
  • Oversee maintenance activities, including minor and major outages, and providing technical direction to site team.
  • Identify reliability risks and Manage the engineering action plan in order to mitigate risks
  • Create different predictive model to stop machinery breakdown before its failure.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding audit / testing activities, schedules, technical issues, and test results
  • Support service sales Management to prepare contract & evaluate technical aspects- defining and clarifying open items / deviations.
  • Participate in an internal and external Kick off meeting.
  • Organize and lead the participation of the extended team members as necessary to support the work of the core team
  • Document findings from performance analysis and maintenance activities and provide detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Act as a trainer for site team, ensure knowledge, expertise are strengthened within the team

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program (advanced degree is preferred)
  • At least 3 years’ of experience in HRSG and steam turbines within plants or similar facilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in analyzing performance, troubleshooting.
  • Detailed knowledge of international codes and API standards related to steam turbines and HRSG systems
  • Category A boiler engineer certificate.
  • Category II vibration analyst certification will be added advantage
