The Service Engineer – Electrical & Automation (E&A) is responsible for executing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical and automation systems. The role ensures operational reliability, compliance with Wärtsilä standards, and high‑quality service delivery, while supporting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Location: El Salvador
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and automation systems across Wärtsilä equipment and solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to control systems, switchgear, and automation platforms.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards during all service activities.
- Prepare accurate service reports and maintain documentation to support audits and compliance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback for product, process, and service enhancements.
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders regarding service progress, technical findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of service projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and automation systems.
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards in industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and automation diagrams.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and service management systems.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with Wärtsilä systems and solutions.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, PLC programming, and industrial automation platforms.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage customer expectations.
- Fluent English level is desire
Experience & Certifications
- Typically 2–4 years of experience in electrical and automation service or maintenance roles.
- Certifications in electrical safety, automation systems, or related technical fields are an advantage.
Tools & Technologies
- Diagnostics & Service: Electrical and automation diagnostic tools, service management platforms
- Reporting & Documentation: Microsoft Office Suite
