Accountant, NACOS Marine Singapore

As part of this transition, we are strengthening our local finance and HR capabilities to support our operations in Singapore.

 

Role Overview

 

The accountant plays a key role in supporting both finance operations and HR administration within the local legal entity in Singapore. This position acts as the local interface between the global finance and HR teams, the local business, and external service providers, ensuring smooth financial transactions, payroll, and compliance with country-specific labour and finance/tax regulations.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to handle a mix of financial administration, payroll coordination, and local compliance tasks while effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience across multiple business functions in an international, fast-paced environment.

 

This is a permanent opportunity, and the location is at Jurong East, Singapore. This position works closely with a local team of about 30 people, while being part of a broader global finance and HR network.


What will you be doing:

As a Accountant, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

Finance & Treasury Support

-     Liaise with external service providers for statutory accounting, tax compliance, and other local financial reporting requirements.
-    Act as the local support contact for global Treasury operations, assisting with debt collection, trade finance, weekly payments, and short-term liquidity management.
-    Support financial transactions, including GST tax filing, payments, and supplier coordination.
-    Internal control on procedures, including on-site inventory/asset control and business control support
-    Work closely with global finance shared services to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

 

Payroll & HR Administration

- Serve as the local point of contact for payroll processing, salary administration, pension plans, and social benefits coordination.
- Liaise with external payroll providers, pension advisors, and social benefits administrators to ensure compliance with local labour laws.
- Provide support for country-specific labour issues, ensuring alignment with local employment regulations.
- Assist employees with HR-related queries, including payroll, benefits, and administrative policies.

 

Local Compliance & Administrative Support

- Support the Managing Director in daily business operations, including local contract reviews, local finance/labour policy reviews & highlight, and business meetings.
-Facilitate communication between local teams and global finance and HR functions, ensuring smooth issue resolution. 
- Provide guidance on company processes and policies to employees and external stakeholders.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
-    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
-    Experience in finance administration, payroll coordination, or HR support
-    Familiarity with local finance/tax and labour regulations in Singapore
-    Ability to liaise with external service providers such as tax consultants, payroll vendor, and corporate secretarial firm.
-    Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
-    Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with both internal teams and external partners.
-    Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to navigate multiple tasks in a fast-paced business environment.
-    Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics/SAP or similar finance/HR systems is an advantage.
