We are now looking for a

 

Sales Manager, UWS

 

to join our Global UWS Sales team, on a permanent contract, for our office in Valencia, Spain.

 

As Sales Manager, UWS, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Generate customer-specific solutions, specifications, and quotations according to the needs of the client for the Wartsila Underwater Services portfolio.
  • Bid management.
  • Configure solutions according to defined needs.
  • Preparing cost calculations according to directives and agreed targets.
  • Evaluate the technical and environmental risks of the solution.
  • Ensure that response time for sales inquiries/requests/orders are met.
  • Understand the customer needs and contribute to supporting them to meet their objectives.
  • Develop, report and assume accountability for sales and sold margin budget among assigned customer accounts.
  • Maintain and further develop present assigned customer relationships.
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential customers.
  • Create Account plans for major customers, execute the plan and update changes throughout the year.
  • Develop and maintain Customer Satisfaction.
  • Collect and communicate market intelligence and competitor information.
  • Propose customer specific sales target based on market outlook, identified opportunities and strategy.
  • Create, maintain and manage all customer visit reports and opportunities in CRM.
  • Maintain accurate customer records among assigned customer accounts.
  • Cooperate and coordinate sales activities for global or cross-country operating customers with responsible colleagues.
  • Ensure that customer inquiries, orders and complaints are responded to promptly and satisfactorily.


For us to be the best match, we expect you to have sales skills and technical insight. Experience from working in the maritime industry, which is a plus. As an ideal candidate, you have gained sales and/or technical experience from previous roles. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you have knowledge of CRM Sales Force tools and technical background, if possible, related to the shipping industry.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Technical education or equivalent qualifications as a combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with responsibility for collating costs and invoices.
  • Excellent organisational skills and customer empathy. 
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrable teamwork skills and the ability to adjust and re-plan in dynamic situations. 
  • A working knowledge of commercial administration processes. 
  • You are passionate about the Underwater Services business and willing to drive it to the next level.
  • Experience in the Maritime Industry.
  • Ability to work in multicultural/international business environments.
  • Self-driven and motivated with a continuous learning ability.
  • Openness & willingness to adapt to change.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel/ PPT/ CRM.
  • Fluent in Spanish & English is mandatory.
  • Living or within driving distance of our office in Valencia, Spain.
  • Have a valid European work permit permitting you to work in Spain.

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 40%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
