Workshop Technician

Workshop Technician – Underwater Services

 

to join our team working for a better future.

The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Valencia, Spain.

 

 

What you will be doing

 

As a Workshop Technician, you will work under the authority of the Workshop & Asset Manager, focusing on the maintenance, repair, testing, and certification of operational equipment and workshop installations used in underwater and marine operations.

 

 

As Workshop Technician, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Performing maintenance, testing, repair, and certification of operational equipment in accordance with local regulations, industry standards, and Wärtsilä requirements.
  • Carrying out installation and commissioning checks of operational equipment and plants.
  • Preparing operational equipment for mobilization and offshore/field operations.
  • Maintaining the asset management system, including registering new assets, maintenance programs, and certification requirements.
  • Managing maintenance and certification plans, ensuring accurate records in the maintenance management system.
  • Tracking equipment inbound and outbound movements in the warehouse.
  • Supporting stock management, including spare parts and consumables restocking, ordering, and documentation.
  • Ensuring all activities are executed in line with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Keeping the workshop and associated installations in safe and operational condition.
  • Staying up to date with industry and local legal regulations related to equipment maintenance and certification.
  • Where required, leading or supporting small teams during maintenance and repair activities.

 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • A technical background in mechanical, electrical, marine, or industrial maintenance (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in equipment maintenance, inspection, and repair in workshop or industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management systems and asset tracking.
  • Good technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across cultures and disciplines.
  • Awareness of inventory and effective use of resources.
  • Commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • English level sufficient for technical documentation.

 

In this role, some travel may be required for training.
