We are looking for a Sourcing & Tendering Manager for our Wärtsilä Gas Solutions division. Since our our business is now rapidly growing, we offer a challenging job with a lot of possibilities for personal and knowledge growth in a great team.
We are evaluating multiple job locations, such as; Gdynia Poland, Asker Norway, Valencia Spain, Kalmar Sweden
Job Summary:
The Sourcing and Tendering Manager plays a key role within Gas Solutions Business, with a primary focus on enabling a Sourcing strategy, supporting profitable Order Intake and reliable Project execution.
The Sourcing and Tendering Manager leads a team of Sourcing and Tender Experts, responsible for establishing the framework for sourcing strategies, supporting cost reduction initiatives, standardization efforts, and provide support to Sales community and tenderings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management
- Manage Team of Sourcing and Tender experts
- Establish and communicate team objectives aligned with Company strategy
- Guide the team in their roles, priorities and escalation when applicable
- Identify skills development opportunities and provide training or mentoring to further develop capabilities and performance
2. Sourcing
- Support team to develop and implement long-term frame agreements with key vendors, encompassing terms and conditions, price lists, volume discounts, capacity bookings, and other essential agreements. A set of commodities would be possibly handled directly by Manager
- Support team to drive vendor sourcing strategies that define which suppliers will receive volume allocations based on performance metrics. A set of commodities would be possibly handled directly by Manager.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to present sourcing plans, progress, and results, focusing on the alignment of the sourcing roadmap with business objectives.
- Develop and regularly communicate sourcing KPIs and performance updates to the leadership team.
- Act as a point of escalation for sourcing issues and manage relationships with critical suppliers to ensure compliance with frame agreements, cost efficiency, and product standardization.
3. Standardization
- Lead efforts to revamp global supplier frame agreements to incorporate standardized outfits, ensuring pricing stability, volume management, and discount agreements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Product Management and Discipline teams, to align sourcing strategies with product standardization initiatives
4. Tender
- Support team to implement comprehensive diagnostics for key products to highlight sourcing risks, cost-saving opportunities, and market trends.
- Collaborate with the Project Purchasing Manager to ensure uniform tendering practices and lesson-learned handovers across projects.
- Establish best-in-class sourcing fundamentals and KPIs for tendering processes by ensuring material costs are covered by valid supplier offers or binding price lists.
- Support the strategic review of tenders, ensuring high alignment between sourcing objectives and overall project costs and timelines.
