Workshop FS Supervisor

We are looking for a Workshop- Field Service Supervisor in Asuncion, Paraguay

 

About the role

Parts and Field Service is a global organization with harmonized processes and tools to deliver best-in-class service to our customers. We value safety, wellbeing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate field service and workshop activities, including planning and executing services ensuring safety, quality control and processes improvements.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform Field Service activities according to work scope in 4 Stroke equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, overhauls, repairs, and troubleshooting on 4-stroke engines and mechanical systems, in the workshop and in the field.
  • Supervise third-party contractors and outsourced teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage assigned team and related activities during the work execution.
  • Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
  • Follow up and report on the status of daily field service and workshop activities to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Create the Service Work Reports.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and promote best practices, standardization, and operational excellence in the workshop.
  • Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customers.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values, and company policies applicable as an employee and to the position.

  • Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience.
  • Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in installation operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish will be a plus

 

Knowledge in:

  • Product knowledge in 4-stroke medium speed brands
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on maintenance procedures.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on tools handling and mechanical components dimensional inspection.
  • Knowledge of machining, component reconditioning, and workshop repair processes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.
  • Knowledge in Wärtsilä Engines will be a plus.

 

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel, including domestic and international. Extended periods away from the primary residence should be expected. Travel flexibility is an essential requirement of this role.
