Principal/Senior Software Engineer (Simulators, 3D engine)

Wärtsilä Voyage Belgrade as a part of Wartsila Voyage is a high-tech, modern development center, which has dozens of unique specialists. The company actively uses flexible development methodologies, a developed technological culture allows creating unique technical solutions.
We create integrated technological solutions to improve the safety and efficiency of shipping, navigation, and ship operations:

  • fleet monitoring and management
  • vessel traffic control systems
  • marine training systems
  • on-board navigation equipment
  • mobile navigation apps


Our Simulation & Modeling forward-looking team is looking for a developer deeply immersed in 3D graphics technology. The candidate will have to start developing a new generation of visualization for the products of the direction.


This is a permanent role, the preferable location is Belgrade, Serbia or Helsinki, Finland.


Team is organized within SCRUM.


You will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the migration of simulators to new generation of 3D rendering
  • Implement new 3D related functionality for our customers
  • Support old generation visual engine (in transition period)
  • Work in a team of professionals
  • Introduce your ideas and take initiative


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and STL
  • Experience in developing 3D graphics applications using DirectX11, DirectX12 or/and Vulcan, OpenGL
  • Knowledge of graphic technologies
  • Wide experience in 3D rendering engines (for example Unreal Engine)
  • Strong mathematical base
  • English ideally at intermediate or higher level.
