Field Service Mechanical Technician

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Technician who enjoys solving technical challenges and working directly with customers?

 

We are looking for a Field Service Mechanical Technician to join our team in Bermeo, Spain. In this role, you will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls on marine and energy equipment, helping our customers keep their operations running safely and efficiently.

 

Your role and responsibilities  

 

  • Performing maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and overhauls on 4-stroke marine engines, including Diesel, Gas, and Dual Fuel engines, as well as other mechanical equipment at customer sites.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting propulsion equipment, such as Controllable Pitch Propellers (CPP), Thrusters, and Waterjets.
  • Supporting scheduled installations, engine overhauls, inspections, commissioning, and repair activities.
  • Working closely with customers to provide technical support and practical solutions on-site.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and continuously developing your technical expertise.
  • Preparing service reports and documenting work performed and spare parts used.
  • Travelling frequently to customer sites to provide field service support.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with safety requirements and company procedures.

 

Requirements for the position  

 

  • A technical vocational qualification or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauls, and repair activities.
  • Experience working on 4-stroke marine engines and, ideally, propulsion equipment such as CPPs, Thrusters, or Waterjets.
  • Enjoy solving technical challenges and finding practical solutions in the field.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Confident working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approximately 80% of the time) for field service assignments.
  • Basic to intermediate English skills, both written and spoken.

 

As an ideal candidate you might also have…

 

  • Experience with marine engines, propulsion systems, or power plant equipment.
  • Exposure to commissioning, overhauls, or field service activities.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and digital service tools.
