Plant Engineer
We are now looking for a
Plant Engineer
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Bermeo, Spain.
What you will be doing
Plant Engineer will be responsible for organizing, overseeing, and improving plant processes necessary for the operation of test engines and maintenance of plant assets, ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Additionally, he will be responsible for implementing process improvements, reducing operating costs, and ensuring efficient use of resources. Responsibilities include supervising the operations team, identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing new technologies, and resolving technical issues.
The Plant Engineer is also expected to participate in quality and safety audits, ensuring that all operations comply with established regulations.
As Plant Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations.
• Ensure that systems and equipment operate properly and efficiently.
• Manage, monitor, and optimize the laboratory plant's operational processes.
• Propose and implement process improvements and reduce operating costs.
• Work closely with the engine testing teams to improve operational efficiency.
• Propose and implement improvements to plant assets.
• Actively participate in projects for the construction of new facilities or the modernization of existing ones.
• Plan, organize, and oversee plant maintenance: test cells, auxiliary systems and their corresponding equipment, and other laboratory equipment.
• Manage the supply of materials and services necessary for the development of plant-related activities.
• Coordinate and control subcontractors working at the plant.
• Actively participate in engineering projects for the development and implementation of new plant capabilities.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as WCI.
• Resolve technical and operational issues at the plant.
• Train and supervise plant operating personnel.
• Prepare reports related to the above responsibilities.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of electricity, pneumatics, and hydraulics will be a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to analyse data and optimize processes.
• Experience in team management and leadership.
• Ability to solve technical and operational problems.
• Knowledge of safety and quality regulations.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts if necessary.
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
