Mediterranean Parts and Field Service is looking for a motivated Technical Expert 4 Stroke (M/F) in Technical Services team.
You serve both internal and external customers with all operational technical inquiries related to Wärtsilä Engines and their control systems. You will provide this support in the field of installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for related engines.
You will report to General Manager Technical Services Mediterranean Region. This is a permanent opportunity and preferred location are Bermeo or Valencia, Spain.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Technical Expert 4 Stroke, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Manage complex technical and operating problems of the customer and internal stakeholders to reach quality with on-time support and to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Participate in customer and/or vendor meetings as an engine expert, when complex technical matters are handled
- Perform troubleshooting and technical field investigations and screening of field service reporting.
- Visit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is needed
- Analyse field experience and customer feedback data to improve the products and solutions as well as operation and maintenance of the installation.
- Make complex analysis with adequate conclusions and recommendations (reports)
- Be responsible for handling Technical Requests received from customers.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education.
- A high level of mechanical and automation experience with Wärtsilä engines. Experience with non-Wärtsilä engines is a strong plus.
- Experience in a service support role, especially with Wärtsilä products (field service/engineering).
- Motivation and genuine interest in working with 4-stroke engines.
- A safety-first mindset.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- A true team player with a proactive approach and technical reporting skills who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results.
- A positive mindset and openness to learning new things.
- Customer-focused with a service-minded attitude.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
