HR Specialist

People Services is the face of HR, supporting our employees and delivering services and expertise globally across all HR processes to bring a world-class employee experience to life for Wärtsilä. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HR Specialist to join our HR team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across a range of employee life cycle activities, including HR operations and administration, data management, Mobility, and employee inquiries. The HR Specialist will ensure all support is delivered efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and regulations. In this role, you will work alongside a great team of HR professionals. Together with these colleagues, you will be in direct contact with our HR customers on a day-to-day basis, in order to deliver a great employee experience. Together with your colleagues, you will also have opportunities to develop and improve our Global HR processes by being a part of ongoing global project groups.
The position will be located in Colombia or Mexico.
What you will be doing
- Manage the day-to-day HR operation support, including employee data changes, organization reporting relationships, inquiries, and transfers
- First-level support for our employees and managers with their HR queries, assisting with policy and procedures questions, and other HR services.
- Assist HR mobility operation by creating transfer letters, agreements and related documents and conducting data validation checks to ensure accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies and inquiries.
- Support other HR colleagues with maintaining HR data and reports using SAP SuccessFactors and UKG reporting tools. Develop ad-hoc reports as requested by HR and senior management.
- Together with the team, contribute to the continuous development of the Region and Global ways of working, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for automation & digitalization.
- Regular collaboration with the different HR Teams, e.g. Talent Acquisition Services, Rewarding, HR Information Systems, among others, and with local HR Teams within your Region.

The below will enable you to shine in this role:
- Relevant higher education qualification e.g. Business Administration or Human Resources or equivalently qualified by experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR.

Experience working with HR ticketing or case management systems (e.g., Zendesk or similar).
- A systematic and organized way of working, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with cultural sensitivity, able to work effectively within a team and deliver services across different cultures.
- Natural ability to collaborate successfully with others, seeking opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel.
- Strong HR operations ad data management skills, with the ability to maintain data accuracy and privacy.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal.
- Advance Portuguese is a Plus
