We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to join our skilled team. The location for this position is in Budaörs, Hungary.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Service Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä products and similar medium-bore diesel engines.
- Overhaul engine components in the workshop and on site/onboard, including in-situ machining where applicable.
- Diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and investigate component condition/failures.
- Check, adjust, and calibrate relevant systems and auxiliary equipment.
- Execute pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines.
- Identify failures, perform adjustments, and assist with trial runs and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions.
- Perform site audits and provide findings and recommendations.
- Prepare accurate service/work reports and submit time and expense claims on time, meeting Wärtsilä quality and documentation standards.
- Provide internal and external reports in line with Wärtsilä standards; inform administrative personnel as required.
You will shine in this role, when you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical-focused technical diploma.
- Hands-on repair and maintenance of gas and/or diesel medium-bore engines.
- Experience with Wärtsilä diesel engines or similar medium-bore applications in a lead role (e.g., lead mechanic/field supervisor).
- Mechanical experience on Wärtsilä power plants or similar applications in a lead role.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel globally up to 80% of the time (approximately 150+ days per year).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
