Superintendent Service Engineer Electrical & Automation

We are looking for a dynamic Superintendent Service Engineer E&A to strengthen our Field Service team. The preferred location is Budaörs, Hungary.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a Superintendent Service Engineer E&A, your main responsibility will be supervising Field Service Electrical & Automation activities on 4-stroke Marine Engines and/or Control Systems, leading small teams and keeping a direct relationship with the client, while ensuring that operations are following QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) rules, are in accordance with Wärtsilä quality, and adhere to the schedule. The role involves traveling both in Hungary and globally. When you are not working in the field, remote work will be an option.

 

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have a strong knowledge and understanding in electrical engineering and automation, working autonomously, and leading small teams. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from working in Field Service, especially on 4-stroke engines and/or control systems.

 

 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Supervising and participating in electrical and automation activities during service and commissioning of onshore and offshore installations.
  • Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting, attending trial runs, and testing of installations according to instructions and expected performance requirements.
  • Ensuring the successful completion of work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Acting as Superintendent Engineer for complex marine installations.
  • Ensuring that work is executed in accordance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer-site procedures.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by job performance and positive interactions with customers.
  • Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality.
  • Promoting Wärtsilä products and services.

 

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:

 

  • B.Sc or M.Sc in Electrical or Automation Engineering.
  • Strong E&A experience on 2- and/or 4-stroke engines and/or control systems.
  • Previous experience of leading small teams.
  • Excellent communication and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of English and Hungarian, both verbal and written.
  • Availability to travel globally on short notice.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage your team members.
  • A genuine passion for marine technologies and automation.
  • Driving license / B.

 

 

You will be at an advantage if you have experience with:

 

  • Speed governors.
  • Engine auxiliary systems.
  • Power generators.
  • Distribution switchboards.
  • PLC automation systems.
  • Propulsion control systems.
  • Energy battery storage.
  • Variable frequency drives.
  • LNG installations.
