Workshop Quality Engineer
We are now looking for a
Workshop Quality Engineer
to join our Wärtsilä Hungary team working for a more sustainable future through.
This is a permanent contract. The preferred location is Budaörs, Hungary.
What will you be doing?
As a Workshop Quality Engineer you will provide an expertise to the local team to keep achieving high internal quality level in our workshop. In addition, in this role, your responsibilities will include reporting steps, the regular preparation of measurement forms and follow-up done by other team members, the availability of up-to-date equipment according to existing and new coming demand and continuously checking whether the equipment we have is sufficient and in good working order.
Workshop Quality Engineer will identify new tools and register them under SAP. By constantly checking the measurements, forms and values in the workshop, the role holder will identify gaps in the process and flag them to reduce the risk of reworking.
On a typical day, you will start work at 08:00 am and finish at 05:00pm.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have knowledge of Engine parts overhauling, Engineering & measurement tools usage and experience in MS Office programs.
For you to succeed in the position, we hope you have technical background and degree from engineering (mechanical or marine),act as a team player and self-discipline.
As Workshop Quality Engineer, you will focus on following duties:
- Continuous monitoring of quality in-house.
- Continuous direct communication with the workshop manager to improve reporting, order follow-up and workflow processes.
- Determining equipment needs according to incoming innovations and needs during daily basis.
- Responsible for monitoring the calibration requirement and the condition of the measuring instruments used.
- Monitoring the accuracy and adequacy of the maintenance forms kept by Workshop team.
- Defining the gaps in quality and the risk of potential rework, informing the workshop manager and necessary technical person responsible at this point.
- Determining the lack of special tools and measuring instruments used in maintenance at workshops and making corrective work for those who need it.
- By making random measurement checks in the maintenance carried out in the workshop you will act as a inspector and inform the responsible person
- Authorization to stop work in the workshop, according to 5s and quality related issues.
- Be engaged in 5S projects and process improvements in all areas.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings and positive participation in daily work schedule board meetings and create improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to:
- University Degree in Mechanical or Technical Engineering
- 5-10 years of professional experience in Engine overhauling /Marine engineer degree is preferred.
- Experienced in technical drawing (reading and drawing skills) and effective communication skills.
- Good hands-on skills & Knowledge of measurement-tools, such as micrometer, caliper etc.
- Fluent level of English&Hugarian, both written&spoken is must.
- To have a valid right to work in Hungary
- Good knowledge of MS Office & SAP
- Planning and organizational skills
- Problem solver and efficient decision maker
- Driving license is necessary for this role.
- Available to travel, if needed (around 60% of the working days)
