Position Summary

Fuel Control Module (FCM) Refurbishment is responsible for coordinating the refurbishment of Fuel Control Modules (FCMs) at the Lihir power plant. This role will oversee the project lifecycle from engineering design and drawing modifications through implementation, commissioning support, and documentation. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful refurbishment of five additional FCM units by leveraging the technical knowledge and lessons learned from the successful pilot refurbishment project.



Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor all FCM refurbishment activities, ensuring project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, piping layouts, and engineering documentation required for refurbishment activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on Fuel Control Module systems, piping arrangements, and refurbishment requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely execution of project activities.
  • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and performance verification of refurbished FCM units.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Maintain accurate project records, engineering documents, design revisions, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, engineering practices, and site operational requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams, operations personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote knowledge transfer and project continuity by applying lessons learned from previous refurbishment activities.



Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in engineering project coordination, maintenance projects, or power plant operations.
  • Proven experience working with contractors and subcontractors within industrial or energy environments.
  • Familiarity with fuel control systems, piping systems, and power generation equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in project documentation, technical reporting, and engineering change management.



Technical Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering drawing development.
  • Knowledge of piping design, system modifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of fuel control systems and power plant operations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Competent in project planning, contractor coordination, and execution monitoring.
