Position Overview:
As a Field Service Superintendent, 4-stroke, you will lead and manage the assigned team and related activities during work execution, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

Location: Argentina, Buenos AIres (Open for Relocation)

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan with a safety-first mindset.
  • Conduct overhauls and repairs on assemblies on-site and/or in workshops.
  • Execute advanced mechanical, electronic, automation, and system integration troubleshooting on 4-stroke engines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Act as a commissioning engineer and lead related commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical advisory for repair activities executed under customer responsibility.
  • Maintain professional interaction with customers during work execution.
  • Communicate internal and external progress status of assigned work professionally.
  • Collaborate with Field Service back office and Technical Support during work execution.
  • Prepare Service Work Reports with required quality parameters.
  • Ensure work is executed according to Wärtsilä’s quality, health, and environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Comply with the management system as implemented locally for the position.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach position objectives and comply with orders, instructions, values, and company policies.
  • Proactively consult, advise, and promote available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customers.
  • Analyze experience and customer feedback data to continuously seek solutions with a customer-focused mindset to enhance products.
  • Share knowledge and act as a trainer for new colleagues.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Advanced Information Management skills, preferably with MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with IM applications and tools.
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä products and services.
  • Strong communication and customer relations skills.
  • Process-focused and optimization mindset.
  • Leadership experience with field service personnel.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with people of different nationalities.
  • Adaptability to cope with changes.
  • Willingness and availability to travel (role requires 70% travel).

 

Education:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering + 5 years of related experience, or Technical/Vocational school (preferably Mechanical) + 10 years of experience.
