Operations Advisor, Field Service

The Wärtsilä Energy Business – North Region team has a vacancy for an Operations Advisor, Field Service

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites prior to the commencement of critical/scheduled services
  • Perform preservice Safety Walk at customer site, report via WeCare system
  • Inspect preservice Field Service operations relative to:
    • Power plant facilities or related customer site
    • Customer workshops
    • Engine halls
    • Customer provided rest and working areas for FS (Field Service) personnel
    • Review all relevant documentation prior to the start of each service (SWR’s, WeCare’s, Service Offer)
  • Validate spare parts list and/or Overhaul kits with the approved working scope
  • Perform quality checks on specialized tools and equipment to be utilized during upcoming service
  • Prepare and present quarterly continuous improvement analysis of Field Service operations to all appropriate stakeholders during quarterly virtual TEAMS meeting
  • Maintain positive relationship with the customer prior to commencement of the service
  • Liaise with the customer and Wartsila stakeholders to support proper execution of service attendances
  • Collaborate with Region QEHS to support education and awareness programs and initiatives

 

Desired Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering. A diploma with relevant experience will be considered

 

Desired Skills and Experience

The applicant should have a minimum of 7 years’ experience performing the following activities:

  • Mechanical and Electrical & Automation (E&A) processes as it relates to service attendances and their scope (mandatory)
  • Leading Field Service activities and/or related functions
  • Customer service experience
  • De-escalating critical customer and internal matters
  • In-depth understanding OSHA, ISO, and other relevant standards
  • OSHA 10/30 certification (plus)
  • Proficient in both english and spanish

Additional Skills

  • Availability to travel to the US and throughout the Caribbean
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • MS Excel, MS Power Point MS Word, SAP, and Salesforce knowledge
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Coaching & negotiating skills
  • Travel up to 40% of the year
