We are looking to hire Shift Supervisor Electrical to be based at our client site at Arkay Energy Ramanathpuram:

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of Gas engines and Steam turbines during shifts, including the management of the 110 KV switchyard, as well as troubleshooting.
  • This is done in compliance with safety protocols and procedures established by Wartsila, with the aim of fulfilling contractual obligations.
  • Ensure maximum availability of engines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Participate in both scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance activities, in addition to planning and forecasting the necessary spare parts requirements.
  • Be capable of independently troubleshooting electrical equipment installed in the power plant, as well as collaborating with field service engineers and customers.
  • Ensure the timely availability of manpower and equipment, and resolve issues to maintain uninterrupted engine operation.
  • Adhere to safety standards at all times, coordinate with clients for resource allocation, implement corrective actions, and monitor staff to prevent accidents and protect property and lives.

 

Desired skills.

1. A solid comprehension is essential as,

  • Generator, Transformer, Circuit breaker & motor 
  • Power system protection (iii) Switch yard Equipment's
  • WECS & UNIC control system 
  • Earthing & lighting system 
  • High & low voltage AC system , DC system
  • Basic knowledge about mechanical functions/operations of Engine & related auxiliaries 

2. Functional knowledge and hands-on experience of the following:

  • Operation & maintenance of DG sets & its Auxiliaries 
  • 110KV Switchyard O&M 
  • Common problems & trouble shooting in electrical & control system 
  • Preventive/schedule maintenance. Of electrical system 
  • Modification/up gradation in electrical system for performance improvement 
  • Maintaining of required inventory for smooth operation of DG & Switchyard Equipment's. 

3. Knowledge of technical and commercial contractual terms

4. Computer proficiency MS Office

5. Knowledge about OHSAS 18001

6. Problem solving and Analytical skill

7. Knowledge about Emergency Preparedness and Response to Emergencies

8. Knowledge about the safety systems in power plant.

9. Any other knowledge Knowledge of latest Wärtsilä technical Developments/modifications/improvements Education: Graduate/Diploma Engineering in Electrical. C certificate is mandatory. WECS / UNIC tuning knowledge added advantage Experience: 

10. Atleast 5 years in O&M of liquid fuel / Gas Engine operated power plants with Switch yard operation. 

11. The possession of a Boiler Operational Examination certificate is regarded as a significant advantage..
