Contracts Coordinator

Wärtsilä’s Water and Waste business line (WAW) supplies the customer waste management solutions to secure maximized energy efficiency and minimized discharge impact. Additionally, WAW is the market leader in fresh water generation systems for cruise vessels.

Having recently transitioned into the Portfolio business unit, Water and Waste are looking for a Contracts Coordinator who is energetic and results orientated to deliver sales contracts from our conventional wastewater product range.


Based from our office in Suzhou, China the Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of customer sales orders. Candidates will provide and maintain accurate information relevant to the project and will liaise with other stakeholders to ensure the successful and profitable delivery of projects.



  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Compile and manage project schedule plans when necessary. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Coordinating and communication with internal stakeholders at project kickoff to ensure deliverables within the scope of supply are achievable and attainable.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Coordination and compilation of contract deliverable drawings, manuals, certification and other documentation which are to be provided to customers at different stages throughout a project lifecycle
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">For projects assigned to them, Candidates will be responsible for the management and delivery of a contracts full scope of supply
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Monitor and ensure projects are planned to be delivered on time and to specification.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Utilise Wartsila’s non conformity process to ensure issues, uncertainties or anomalies are rectified correctly so they do not reoccur  
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Understand commercial terms and conditions and negotiate changes when necessary with customers  
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Conduct frequent reviews with other key internal and external stakeholder to ensure deliverables are still on schedule and to proactively trouble shooting any potential issue with a solution orientated attitude
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Communicating and negotiating with internal and external suppliers when component shortages need expediting
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Managing variation orders for customer contracts with the end goal of developing project margin
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Candidates will have responsibility for contract budgets to ensure contracts are delivered profitably and to the forecasted margin


  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Education - Bachelor’s degree or further – Majors should be in relevant topic eg. Technical, Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, Languages etc.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Proven Competence in English Language, Math’s, Sciences/Engineering
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Excellent English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), can use English as a main working language.  Experience in an international environment is desirable but not essential.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Must have strong communication skills and ability/experience in negotiating and problem resolution
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Must have ability or organize multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly in a high pressured situation
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Experience in project management or organizational background preferred however a graduate position with little or no experience would be considered
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Marine industry knowledge is desirable but not essential 
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Must have strong IT Skills and must be fully proficient using Microsoft office
