The location of this position is Suzhou, China.

Based from our office in Suzhou, China the Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of project sales for the Waste Water product line. Candidates will provide, monitor and maintain accurate information relevant to the project and will also liaise with other stakeholders to ensure the successful and profitable delivery of projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and contributing in contracting phase of a project
  • For projects assigned to them, Candidates will be responsible and accountable for the management and delivery of a projects full scope of supply
  • Creating and maintaining project plans to schedule and monitor scope deliverables
  • Prepare project reports for frequent reviews with other key internal and external stakeholder
  • Candidates will have responsibility for creating and maintaining contract budgets to ensure contracts are  delivered profitably and to the forecasted margin
  • Managing variation orders for customer contracts with the end goal of developing project margin
  • Conducting review contract financial performance at completion of contractual delivery
  • Evaluating and mitigating risks foreseen in the project  
  • Monitor and ensure projects are planned to be delivered on time and to specification.
  • Utilise Wartsila’s non conformity process to ensure issues, uncertainties or anomalies are rectified correctly so they do not reoccur 
  • Manage adherence to contractually required technical standards and customer specifications. As well as Wartsila own quality standards
  • Supporting Project Coordinators as an experienced team member
  • Support in the competence development of other team members
  • Follow, develop and contribute to the continuous improvement of Wartsila's process and ways of working

 

Essential Skills and Knowledge Required: 

  • Proven Project Management experience with candidate was responsible for the whole delivery of projects - minimum of 5 years' experience - preferably in an engineering or technical company.
  • PRINCE 2, AMP or PMP certification / or equal equivalent
  • Marine/offshore industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Education - Bachelor’s degree or further – Majors should be in relevant topic eg. Technical, Engineering, Project Management, Business Management
  •  Proven Competence in English Language, Math’s, Sciences/Engineering
  •  Excellent English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), can use English confidently as main working language.  Experience in an international working environment preferred
  •  Must have strong IT Skills and must be fully proficient using Microsoft office. SAP Project experience would be advantageous.
