Graduate Engineer Trainee (Operations)

 

Wärtsilä is seeking a Graduate Engineer Trainee (Operations) to join our team at the Kahone in Senegal. In this role

you will undergo structured training to develop technical and leadership skills required to supervise mechanical

maintenance operations. This role is designed to prepare the trainee for future responsibilities in managing mechanical

systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and coordinating shift activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Learn and apply safety standards and regulatory compliance during shift operations.
  • Participate in reporting and root cause analysis for operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve operational challenges.
  •  Engage in leadership development activities, including team management and resource allocation

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Engineering or related field from a reputed university in Senegal with good academic record.
  • Experience: Internship or practical exposure in mechanical maintenance preferred.

 

 

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of production processes and operational workflows.
  • Fluency in English.
  •  Fluency in French
  •  Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High integrity and ownership.
  • Target-oriented and self-motivate
