Parts and Field Service is now looking for an enthusiastic Workshop Logistics Coordinator to join our skilled team onsite in Dartmouth, NS Canada.

What will you be doing?

 

As a Workshop Logistics Coordinator, you will focus on managing all Wärtsilä Service tools, as well as inventory and administrative processes of the Workshop and Field Service to ensure operational efficiency, effectiveness, customer satisfaction and profitability.

 

This position reports to the Workshop Manager.

 

Wärtsilä, a SMART technology company, is seeking the ideal candidate to join our fast- paced, high performance Field Service Operations coordination team (AMER). Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.

 

Accountabilities:

 

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels through ordering parts and consumables for the Workshop ensuring suppliers deliver purchases defect-free and on-time.

 

Using the current system for tool management, you will make sure Wärtsilä Service tools are properly documented, of top quality, and available for our dynamic service teams.

 

You will oversee the gathering and analyzing of data on different tools, as well as the storage of records and keeping of inventory.

 

You are a team player with a safety mindset who works well with others while providing excellent service to internal customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage tool inventory, including shipment tracking.
  • Analyze and help resolve tool-related obstacles and supply issues.
  • Plan, schedule, track and maintain appropriate status of tooling projects.
  • Package, clean and tool inspections.
  • Organize and stock spare parts for the tool crib and organize certification of rigging gear.
  • Keep Tooling Management System up to date and coordinate tool shipments to calibration companies.
  • Support tool service/assembly dept. for tool assembly details.
  • Develop plans for equipment movements and material shipments to assure on-time delivery while minimizing total cost.
  • Order, receive and store parts and consumables in an organized and easily accessible manner.
  • PPE stock and distribution.
  • Inventory planning and forecast: complete frequent inventory cycle counts and ensure parts and consumables are available when needed.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of some experience in workshop and tool coordination.
  • Have basic mechanical/trade knowledge would be an asset.
  • Ability to alalyze manual measurement devices, comparator, vernier, micrometer.
  • Some proficiency at reading technical prints and assembly drawings.
  • Experience with systems such as SAP, WeBuy and/or Tool Management Systems would be a great asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Energetic, resourceful, and creative about finding solutions; with “growth” mindset.
  • Ability to work in a multinational Workshop environment.

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.
