We are now looking for a Head of Go-To-Market to join our Product Office team.


Purpose of the role:


Wärtsilä Voyage possesses the full range of on-board ship navigational, automation and coastal traffic control products and decision support AI. We believe that the future of safe and efficient shipping belongs to a semi- and autonomous transport and are searching for a Head of Go-To-Market. The purpose of the Head of Go-To-Market is to develop and lead a team supporting the Product Office operations, overseeing and managing the entire GTM launch plan lifecycle for new products across the Voyage business.

The Head of Go-To-Market will report to the Product Office Vice-President and will be preferably be based in either of the following locations - St Petersburg, Hørsholm, or Hamburg.


Key responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the design and execution of the Go-To-Market plan.
  • Build and develop a high performing Go-To-Market team to undertake part of the Product Office operations.
  • Develop, manage, and execute the Go-To-Market lifecycle plan for all product portfolios across the Voyage business.
  • Co-ordinate the execution of the Go-To-Market plan, acting as the point of communication for multiple product teams.
  • Be closely integrated with the Voyage customer base, understanding customer needs against Voyage product solutions, bringing both together to create value propositions to be used when pitching solutions to customers.
  • Utilize your market knowledge across the maritime tech industry such as industry pain points and can identify how various products can impact these areas and bring value to the industry.
  • Collaborates across multiple Voyage teams, bringing alignment across product gateways, risk analysis, and escalations.
  • Collaborates with Voyage product teams to understand requirements and align the business on the Go-To-Market strategy, which will be owned by the Head of Go-To-Market.


Key requirements:


  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, technology-based industry, covering the full stack: hardware, software, cloud, data science, solutions, and product management or technical B2B sales. Solid understanding of the Maritime industry is a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience in creating and executing Go-To-Market plans resulting in proven success of expanding product impact across an industry.
  • Customer focused – can identify customer and industry pain points / trends with ease and link this with product opportunity for both repeat and new business.
  • Data driven approach – using data to make strategic decisions and gain business buy-in.
  • MBA degree will be a strong advantage.
  • Proven track record with managing projects with stage gate and agile processes.
  • Personal credibility, maturity and finesse to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex organization, addressing issues combining business, product and technical aspects.
  • Ability to build & develop trustful professional relationships with ease across your business stakeholders and peers.
  • Bring a creative thinking approach when it comes to complex problem solving situations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish, drive and influence cross-functional networks with full responsibility for end-to-end delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Be willing to travel up to 30%.
