Mechanical Specialist/Supervisor

We are looking for a Mechanical Specialist/Supervisor in our Field Service team in Bangladesh. In this position, you will be conducting service jobs at power plants, customer sites, workshops and other land installations. You will be serving mainly our Bangladesh customer base, but your working field is global.

 

Your work tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high level engine expert support for internal and external customers. 
  • Execute warranty works, modification tasks and design upgrade with both new-building & retrofit project.
  • Performs independently advanced trouble shooting on equipment families according to customer requirements. 
  • Make site surveys and troubleshooting in the field. 
  • Follow up and solve problems together with other Technical departments. 
  • Assist in fault finding and suggesting corrective measures. 
  • Perform installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning checks and related activities. 
  • Guide and supervise during execution of engine repairs and engine overhaul related jobs. 
  • Execution of generators/related auxiliary repair and overhaul related jobs. 
  • Carryout planned and unplanned maintenance jobs independently. 
  • Report executed works according to Wartsila standards. 
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila QEHSS Standard and Customer Site specific procedures. 
  • Promote Wartsila products and services.

 

As an ideal candidate, you will have following qualifications:

 A. Education:

  •  B.Sc. in Mechanical/Marine engineering or Equivalent.

 B. Experience:

  • Several years of relevant working experience on Wärtsilä engines or similar 4-stroke engines.
  • Proven job experience in power plants/marine/industrial environment at supervisory level.
  • In-depth understanding of operations/maintenance management procedures.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
