Wärtsilä Voyage Supply Chain Management is looking for a motivated and skilled Planner to strengthen the Planning team. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of how to keep our promises to the Customers by further optimizing material availability, inventory turnover and forecasting to suppliers.The position will be in Supply Chain Planning, Digitalization and Control team within Voyage Supply Chain Management within the Voyage Operations Function.

Location for this position is in Italy, Diano d'Alba but other Wärtsilä Voyage locations could be considered.


As Planner, Supply Chain Management your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

  • Secure the availability when the parts are needed 
  •  Availability and inventory reporting
  • Inventory optimisation and improving Working Capital 
  • Manage stocking policy such as but not limited to order quantities and safety stocks
  • Maintain supply and planning data in relevant systems in defined area of responsibility
  • Forecasting to suppliers and continuous improvement of forecasting capabilities
  • Manage end of life / last time buy process in SCM
  • Frequently communicating with sales regarding future demands
  • Scrapping analyses of non-moving materials and obsolescence management
  • Support the automatization and developing of processes 
  • Data analysing and clustering of materials for example per consumption (XYZ) and value (ABC)
  • Supporting the new ERP implementation


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  • Honesty and integrity are a must
  • 3-5 years of working experience in Supply Chain Management, planning or similar fields
  • Advanced understanding of Materials Availability, Working Capital and Inventory Turn Over
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent SAP knowledge either in procurement or sales
  • Excellent analytical capability and problem-solving skills
  • CRM background considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä Business Processes considered as an advantage
  • Fluent English skills both written and spoken
  • Experience in machine learning considered as an advantage


In this role it is crucial to be a self-driven person who is able to work in a team of experts but also able to co-operate in multi-national environment.
