Project Manager, Navy Navigation

We are now looking for a Project Manager, Navy Navigation to join our team.


The location for the position is in Drammen, Norway. 

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Leading, managing, and developing your assigned project team.
  • Act as the point of contact for the customer and internal stakeholders is project related topics.
  • Develop, coordinate, execute, and maintain plan data as per contractual specifications.
  • Planning and leading the execution of assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from start-up to project closure.
  • Accountable for the performance of the projects (deliverables)
  • Facilitate technical solutions, including support for team members.
  • Responsible for internal project status /milestone reviews and reporting of the same
  • Responsible for following the (customer specific as well as internal) quality and security procedures.
  • Coordination and Facilitation of equipment deliveries.
  • Participation in supplier equipment FAT, if not possible by skilled team members, and if it adds value to the delivery.
  • Advise on any changes to design and potential cost impacts.
  • Assist other team members as required and promptly resolve Quality/Design issues.
  • Support stakeholder management, of external and internal stakeholders. 
  • Active Participation in project meetings (also overseas, if required)
  • Keep confidentiality especially related to Naval contracts.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • Fluent in English (communicate effectively in writing and verbally), preferably fluent in a Scandinavian language (as some customers require these skills)
  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant specialisation, e.g. electrical, electronic or software engineering, focusing on Marine Navigation systems.
  • Good ERP system knowledge (SAP)
  • Min 5 years of working experience in the marine industry.
  • General Cyber security knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the working principles of Navigational sensors, e.g. Radar, DGNSS, Echo sounder ect.
  • Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel overseas.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.      
  • Ability to act as a mentor for your team

As you will be involved in Navy related business, kindly be prepared that the government(s) may run a background check on you / NATO security certified
