(Senior) Mechanical Engineer - Product Care, Thrusters

We are looking for (Senior) Mechanical Engineer - Product Care, Thrusters to join our Thrusters PDM & Portfolio Maintenance team in Drunen to maintain the thruster portfolio to high-quality standards and keep products, configurations, and product data up to date. The portfolio covers underwater mountable thrusters, retractable thrusters and steerable thrusters, and transverse thrusters. You will be the key engineering contact for production, product development and project engineering teams.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

 

Portfolio & Design

  • Maintain the thruster portfolio and hold design responsibility for assigned product groups
  • Create and review 3D models and drawings comply with relevant specifications, class rules, and standards; cross-check designs across product groups
  • Support product updates, improvements, and phase-in/phase-out

 

Product Data & Quality

  • Keep product structures, configurations, and documentation accurate in Teamcenter
  • Evaluate nonconformities with production, suppliers, and Technical Services
  • Contribute to cost-saving and product improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and develop internal engineering guidelines and processes.

 

Collaboration & Improvement

  • Link Product Development and Project Engineering to ensure product readiness
  • Act as engineering contact for sales, sourcing, and suppliers; align closely with Wuxi
  • Drive standardization and use digital tools (PLM/PDM, scripts, dashboards) to improve efficiency

 

Your Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / marine engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable engineering or product development
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling, preferably using Siemens NX or another 3D CAD program. Teamcenter preferred
  • Good understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes
  • A problem-solving mindset with an innovative and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Structured, proactive team player in an international environment
  • Scripting (Python, VBA) or dashboard experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
