We are now looking for a 

 

(Sr.) Structural Engineer

 

to join our structural analysis team. Working on a more sustainable future through propulsion upgrades of the world’s largest vessels. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Drunen, the Netherlands.

What you will be doing 

 

As (Sr.) Structural Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform and report mechanical simulations related to product and technology development projects
  • Develop and maintain simulation methodologies and processes to enable first-time-right of Wärtsilä products and to reduce time to market
  • Problem-solving related to structural strength
  • To perform data analyses for simulation and measurement data
  • To propose and initiate any training activities aiming at maintaining or improving the personal technical knowledge and skills
  • Focus on the following component areas: Thrusters, Waterjets, Controllable Pitch Propellers
  • Eventually lead the Structural Analysis team


You will shine in this role, when you have: 

 

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in Engineering
  • Solid background (5-10 years of experience) on structural analysis with FEM tools (pressure, nature loads, lifting, eigen modes, response analysis, fatigue, vibration etc.)
  • You are able to provide proposals and solutions, not only numbers
  • Communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in an international organisation
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to learn
  • Flexibility and good team working skills
  • Innovative mindset
