Configuration Planning Engineer 

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Drunen, The Netherlands.
 
What you will be doing 
 
As a Configuration Planning Engineer in Sales Tools you will be working with developing offering tools mainly related to the propulsion newbuilding domain. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that sales configurators are up to date in terms of cost and product features as well as ensuring that customer requirements can easily be translated into product features in the offering phase. This ensures our offers are timely, of high quality and according to customer expectations.
 
You will be focused on these responsibilities:
 

  • Propulsion product configurator testing and validation in the marine Quotation Management System (QMS)
  • Translating requirements from network sales and customers into functional design for sales configurator development
  • Aligning product structures and costing structures in sales support with project execution structures (QMS & SAP)
  • Providing expert support to propulsion sales support department 
  • Maintaining product master data in the quotation management system

 
To be successful we expect you to have:
 

  • BCs or MCs in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Experience in using or developing product configurators
  • Experience with Wärtsilä sales processes or similar complex industrial sales environments is a strong advantage.
  • Propulsion product knowledge is seen as a great advantage
  • CRM (Salesforce) skills are seen as an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent co-ordination and team working skills
