As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of the design and development process. From first concept to a manufacturing-ready technical solution, you will engineer parts, assemblies, and arrangements for our propulsion systems. You won’t do this alone: you’ll collaborate closely with lead engineers, fellow mechanical engineers, and technical experts across our offices in Drunen (NL), Helsinki (FI), Trieste (IT), and Wuxi (CN).
What we offer:
- A collaborative environment - work with an experienced, international, and diverse team dedicated to advancing thruster technology.
- Work-life balance - take ownership of your work with the freedom and flexibility to maintain a healthy balance.
- Variety in your role - enjoy a wide range of tasks that keep your work dynamic and engaging.
- Growth opportunities - develop your skills through learning, mentorship, and career progression.
- Challenging projects - contribute to cutting-edge propulsion technology in a stimulating and ever-evolving environment.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and arrangements for thruster systems, from concept to manufacturing-ready solutions.
- Perform calculations, analyses, and 3D modeling to ensure robust and efficient designs.
- Ensure designs for propulsion products comply with relevant specifications, class rules, and standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, including lead engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure design intent is achieved and address issues within the propulsion product portfolio.
- Provide technical support during development, manufacturing and commissioning to ensure successful delivery to our customers.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform calculations to validate propulsion system designs.
- Modify and update existing designs to implement required changes and improvements.
- Report and present findings from designs, calculations, and analyses to project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain and develop internal engineering guidelines and processes.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and engineering advancements relevant to propulsion systems.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in product development projects, or a strong willingness to develop skills in this area.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, preferably in Siemens NX or another 3D CAD program.
- Experience in generating technical drawings and understanding manufacturing processes.
- A problem-solving mindset with an innovative and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in an international organization.
- A positive, proactive attitude, with eagerness to learn and adaptability.
- Teamwork skills, including flexibility and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry is an advantage.
