ICT Security and Infrastructure Engineer

You support condition monitoring systems used for gathering, processing and analysing data. In general you are responsible to maintain the connectivity of our remote monitoring systems and making the collected data available for our CBM data analysts.

Your core activities will be around the data infrastructure and future cloud solutions ensuring our analysis capabilities and growth in delivering remote condition monitoring services.

You will work closely together with our CBM data analysts to resolve issues related to the acquisition software and hardware, the computing infra structure, pre-processing the collected data and cyber security.

 

You are part of our international team (operates from two locations, Drunen in The Netherlands and Finland). We provide CBM services that enhance the business of our customers by improving efficiency, reliability, availability and optimizing maintenance logistics, while continuously improving our CBM services to benefit both Wärtsilä’ s customers and the environment.

 

The CBM Centre Propulsion provides such services for Wärtsilä’ s global propulsion equipment portfolio comprising of Steerable- and Transverse Thrusters, Controllable Pitch Propellers, Reduction Gears, Electric Pods and Water Jets. You will report to our Manager CBM Centre Propulsion. Location Drunen, Netherlands.

 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Maintain connectivity for installations that are monitored, either on-line via VPN or off-line via e-mail servers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to acquisition hardware and software (C# and MATLAB), sensors, third party communication interfaces (MODBUS, NMEA), industrial Ethernet networks, firewalls, SMTP servers, FTP servers and (secure) remote connectivity.
  • Secure data analysing capability by maintaining analysing systems located centrally at Wärtsilä.
  • Follow-up and implementing of Cyber Security requirements within own area of responsibility.
  • Closely cooperate with data analysts and other system experts.
     

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a bachelor or Master of Science degree in Automation, ICT or Computer Science.
  • Experience with Industrial networks topology (TCP/IP, Serial, Firewalls).
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Understanding of Cyber Security, servers and virtual environments.
  • Global knowledge of Cloud based data management solutions and internet access types including VSAT and LTE.
  • Fluent language skills in English and Dutch, both orally and written
  • Proactive attitude and ability to learn
