We are excited to announce an opportunity for an energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic student to join our Land & Sea Academy team in Drunen, The Netherlands.

This internship offers you the chance to be part of a worldwide operating team dedicated to excellence in training and development. You will explore and pursue your academic goals while gaining hands-on experience in a nurturing environment in a global market leading company.

 

Where will you work?

 

Your prospective workplace is in Drunen, The Netherlands, home to one of the ten Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academies (WLSA). We emphasize the importance of competence and continuous learning, key drivers of success in any business. WLSA is committed to providing high-quality training for the marine and energy markets, offering insight into asset management, including maintenance, safety, availability, reliability, and performance. Training is delivered to our own employees and our customers in the most effective modality - whether on board, on-site, at the training center, or online.

 

What will you be doing?

 

After an initial orientation period, where you'll immerse yourself in our operations and team dynamics, you may transition to a hybrid working model, splitting time between our office and remote work. You will join a robust team, including 3 Training Coordinators, 6 Instructors, and a Training Operations Manager based in Italy. Reporting to the General Manager of Customer Training, your responsibilities will extend to:

  • Learning the dynamics of a globally operating company.
  • Engaging directly with Wärtsilä customers, crafting training proposals, and following through on these offers.
  • End-to-end organization of training sessions.
  • Management of financial aspects related to orders.
  • Utilization of various operational tools including planning boards, learning management systems, CRM tools, and Office 365.
  • Collaborating with multiple academy locations and stakeholders worldwide.
  • Participation in communication and marketing initiatives to elevate training awareness.

 

To fulfil the requirements set by your University of Applied Sciences, we challenge you to come up with specific topics that cover areas like sales, marketing, change management, communication etc. If you need help finding a subject that fits you, we are there to support.

  • Fluency in English, with a working understanding of Dutch beneficial but not essential.
