We are looking for a 

  

Manager Field Services Resources – Global Field Services (Propulsion) 

  

You will be based in Drunen Netherlands, with hybrid working available (minimum three days present in the Drunen office). 

  

As Resources Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Propulsion Service and Commissioning Engineers, ensuring that the right skills are available at the right place and at the right time. You will create an environment where people can grow, collaborate and deliver excellent service to our customers. 

  

  

What you will do: 

  

  • Lead, coach and develop the Propulsion Service Engineers team. 

  • Manage assigned service delivery activities and resource requirements. 

  • Support competence development through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training. 

  • Promote strong preparation, quality and a “first time right” approach. 

  • Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Ensure that processes and tools are followed in line with business and Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. 

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support effective planning and service delivery. Build a high-performing team based on trust, collaboration and accountability. 

  • Contribute to action plans and ensure that business objectives and targets are achieved. Promote Operational Excellence and an excellent customer experience. 

  • Drive the Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values in your everyday work. 

  • Ensuring all team members receive initial instructions and are provided with adequate information to successfully complete all tasks to expectations from Operations 

  

  

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  

  • Proven track record in leading change and delivering results. 

  • Experience in transferring competence and delivery capability, and ability to build structured competence development, mentoring and on-the-job learning models 

  • Ability to lead senior experts and managers with high integrity, accountability. The ability to build trust, inspire others and support people’s development. 

  • Good understanding of resource planning, delivery risk, capacity, travel costs and the correct use of different competence levels 

  • Strategic thinking and clear potential to take responsibility for the wider FS Propulsion footprint network 

  • Strong experience in international marine life cycle services. Knowledge of propulsion systems and field services is desirable  

  • Experience in building teams and/or capability hubs 

  • Commercial understanding and experience in a matrix organization 

  • Experience in succession planning and reducing dependency on individual key experts 

  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
