Product Sales Manager Thrusters

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

Preferred locations for this position are Wärtsilä key locations in Netherlands, Norway, Finland or China. Other locations can be considered in case of good match with the candidate. 

 

What you will be doing 

 

As a Product Sales Manager in Thrusters and Propulsion Control Systems (T&PCS) Product Line, you will find yourself in the heart of the exciting world of the Maritime industry. The T&PCS Product Line supervises the relevant business and provides a link between the market, the internal teams and the external partners. The team controls, supports and promotes the specific Wärtsilä products and technologies, used on ships all around the World. Specific focus will be given to strategically important ship segments in offshore, cruise and ferries, tugboats, and various merchant vessels.

 

Your direct role will cover the sales activities of the T&PCS, especially related to new markets around the globe. You will support the existing baseline products of transverse thrusters, steerable thrusters and retractable thrusters. You will support the area sales managers on promoting our products.

 

The T&PCS Product Line operates from several locations (primarily in Netherlands, Norway, China and Finland). We are flexible for hybrid working models as well.

For this position we are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate person who can support our strong growth. Your future sales focus segment(s) will be defined based on your experience and passion for selected strategically important segments.


As Product Sales Manager Thrusters your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Work together with the sales organisations to ensure that the propulsion products are correctly selected for our sales propositions
  • Participate in sales capture teams 
  • Promote our products by making presentations to customers (owners, ship designers and yards) around the globe. Create and improve our value propositions.
  • Open market possibilities for Wartsila propulsion products in currently not that active segments and geographical areas.
  • Initiate, stimulate and implement all necessary actions to improve the sales and the profitability of the T&PCS.
  • Develop product marketing plan together with marketing organization and product managers.
  • Actively search for opportunities and give presentations in various events to improve visibility of our products and values of them.


You will shine in this role when you have: 

 

  • good understanding of the maritime industry and insight in propulsion business
  • general level technical understanding of hydrodynamics and propulsion products
  • a highly dynamic strong personal drive, used to taking own initiatives and being pro-active 
  • a commercial and customer-oriented mindset
  • preferably a Master’s degree in either Engineering or Marketing or Business Development
  • at least 5 years of relevant sales experience preferably in the marine sector
  • very good communication skills, professional use of English in verbal and writing
