Sales Support Engineer

For our Marine Power Business at our office in Drunen (The Netherlands), we are looking for a

 

Sales Support Engineer

 

to reinforce our global team.

 

You will become part of a diverse team, located in Drunen, Finland and Italy serving our customers on a global scale.
 

As a Sales Support Engineer, you give support to services projects related to repair, modifications, and upgrades on existing Wärtsilä Marine Power Equipment. These projects have the ultimate goal of improving the efficiency of existing vessels to make better use of resources and to save energy so that their impact on the environment is reduced. The projects will include different products from our portfolio like engines, propellers, thrusters, waterjets, and other propulsion related products. 
 

You will be involved in multiple international service assignments throughout the complete sales process; from the early sales phase, up to the sales offering and deal transfer to the Delivery Centre. On average, you are involved in 15 to 25 technical projects simultaneously.
 

In this position, you will report to the General Manager Sales Project Engineering.
 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
 

  • You provide commercial, technical, and legal support to all propulsion related questions from Area Sales Teams.
  • Generate the sales support offerings of project services, including the formulation of technical and commercial documentation for Solution Proposals.
  • Undertake sales price calculations for components, sub-assemblies, installations, repairs, upgrades, training, studies and technical solutions.
  • Coordinate the deal transfer from the sales department to the Projects and Engineering Group together with your Sales colleagues.
  • Determine the content and scope of solutions for a proposal quotation, based on discussions with network office and/or customers.

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • We are looking for an energetic and ambitious, enthusiastic, and commercial talent who has an affinity with marine technology.
  • You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree combined with relevant experience in the maritime industry or a technical environment.
  • You are customer and supplier-oriented, are self-reliant, can work independently as well as in an international team.
  • Being part of a multinational team with a matrix structure, it is important to be able to operate independently and realize at the same time how and where to address and align issues that will affect other parts of the organization.
  • You are able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results. In addition, you are independent and show initiative with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You have strong analytical thinking capability and excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written.
