Senior Product Sales Proposals Engineer

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Drunen, The Netherelands.

 

What you will be doing 


In this position you are part of the Wärtsilä Marine Parts & Field Service, Sales Proposals division, focussing on all activities, related to propulsion repairs, retrofits, parts enquiries, environmental solutions and upgrade assignments. It is your goal to translate the technical and commercial requirements for the service assignments into a tailored sales offering towards our European and African internal and external customers.
 
As a Senior Product Sales Proposals Engineer, you join an expanding Sales Proposals team in the Netherlands (Schiedam office) and you will work in close cooperation with the (Product) Sales Managers and Field Service Coordinators covering Europe (CENO) and Africa (SEAF).

 

Your role is fundamental for the success of our international service business related to the maintenance, repair and upgrades of the assets of our maritime customers. You will be part of a team that develops business strategies which drive growth and profitability, support sales performance and leverage high-level customer experience. 
 
In this position you are reporting to the Manager Sales Proposals (Marine PFS Sales Proposals, CENO, the Netherlands).

 

Your main responsibilities are:

 

  • Provides technical and administrative support to the PFS SaPro team, assisting with the preparation of sales proposals and documentation while ensuring accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries and proposal requests. 
  • Analyses customer requirements, provides technical advice and develops solutions to meet customer needs and assist with product selection and sales.
  • Supports sales proposals teams by generating and managing documentation including technical documents and proposals.
  • Coordinates with various business units and functions to gather product information and specifications for sales proposals, to ensure smooth sales processes, and to ensure the availability and timely delivery of products and productized services. 
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of sales support materials, including presentations, product data sheets, and case studies. 
  • Analyses customer requirements and feedback to contribute to the improvement of sales tactics, processes and identify new opportunities. 
  • Ensure data quality in our CRM system.
  • Preparation of sales proposals and supporting presentation material & documents for Spare Parts and Field Service to both internal and external customers.

 

Main requirements in this role are:

 

  • You hold an in-depth propulsion background, preferably with an education in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Business Administration or similar.  
  • Affinity with technical and financial calculations, offer creation and a commercial drive.
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English and having good communication skills is a must.
  • Customer focus (internal/external) and capability of building business relationships.
  • High level of detail and comprehension, while ensuring a high level of pro-activity and flexibility.
  • It is seen as a plus, if you have experience with international business and working in multi-cultural teams.
  • Contributor towards developing a healthy team spirit and team dynamics.
  • Have advanced knowledge of MS Office and CRM (Salesforce) applications.
