Spare Parts Expert

 

to join our Technical Information team in the Lifecycle Data Operations Centre of Excellence (CoE).


The preferred location for the position is in Drunen, The Netherlands. 

 

This is a permanent position. We are open to candidates with different levels of professional seniority.

 

What you will be doing in this position?

 

As a Spare Parts Expert, you will be primarily responsible for managing the (meta)data of parts for the propulsion equipment and auxiliaries delivered by Wärtsilä, and for creating and publishing illustrated spare parts catalogues. You will be part of an international, dynamic, and supportive work environment. To thrive in this job, you need to be resourceful and have good communication and problem-solving skills.

 

As a Spare Parts Expert your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Collect and convert engineering data into consumable parts data information for lifecycle support and for parts sales.
  • Create and maintain Spare Part Catalogues according to the project scope and delivery schedule.
  • Work closely with the technical illustrators to create illustrations for the Spare Part Catalogues.
  • On request, maintain material and parts data to ensure internal and external availability.
  • Provide Parts Coordination Management with technical identification support related to customer quotation requests.
  • Cooperate with different subject matter experts and vendors to clarify the scope of supply and parts requirements.
  • Maintain project status, and provide progress updates to relevant stakeholders, as needed.
  • Take a proactive role in expert groups to improve ways of working and contribute to development projects.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) understanding.
  • Technical knowledge of propulsion products would be beneficial.
  • Mechanical knowledge would be an advantage.
  • C1 English proficiency level or higher.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Cultural awareness.
  • Accuracy and administrative skills.
  • Organizational and analytical skills.
  • Team player skills, an Agile mindset and collaborative ethos.
  • Good understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in logistics, parts or material management is favorable.
  • Experience with SAP, Product Lifecyle Management and/or Asset Lifecycle Management systems is favorable.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access and Visual Basic, or other scripting or programming knowledge is favorable. 
  • Knowledge of creating 3D technical illustrations is favorable.
