We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Expert to provide top-tier technical support for our propulsion products to customers and stakeholders. This position is based in Drunen, Netherlands.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Propulsion Monitoring & Measuring Expert, you provide conceptual machinery control support and concept analysis for internal and external stakeholders. This is covering propulsion machinery controls and permanent monitoring solutions. You also define, execute and analyse local temporary data acquisition.
You ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time support enabled by world class competences in propulsion equipment. The propulsion products consists of a variety of Steerable- and Transverse Thrusters, Controllable Pitch Propellers, Reduction Gears, Electric Pods, Water Jets, reduction gearboxes, rudders and advanced control systems.
What you will do:
- You execute field measurements and on-site Expert support typically connected to failure investigations.
- You participate in root cause analysis and provide conceptual support concerning machinery controls and monitoring systems towards end customers
- You provide input for the Wärtsilä product improvement process.
- You support our global Field Service organisation.
Requirements for the position
- You have knowledge of data acquisition, machinery controls and vibration analysis techniques.
- Experience in the conceptual design of propulsion systems
- You have strong analytical skills and are a good communicator.
- Good technical reporting skills
- You're a team player with a proactive approach.
- You are willing to travel occasionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechatronic engineering or equivalent
- Preferably 2 to 5 years' experience in a technical inspection/troubleshooting environment
