Transport Coordinator

As a Transport Coordinator you will be part of our Project Service / Delivery project teams which takes care of all modification, maintenance or repair projects to ship propulsion systems. The projects can vary in value between €20,000 to €20 million and are carried out all over the world. We execute a wide diversity of projects concerning the engineering, assembly, supply and installation and commissioning of systems on board of the vessels of our customers.
 

In this position you will be responsible for planning, organizing and arranging the (international) road, air and sea shipments of a wide range of products, coming from different production facilities and suppliers, for Wartsila. After collection of the goods, you are responsible delivering the materials towards customers. Besides arranging the shipments, you will be supporting project teams in compliance related activities (customs and AEO).
 

The location for this position is our office in Drunen (The Netherlands) and is offered in temporary basis for 12 months.
 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

 

  • Advising the Project Managers and Workshop team leaders about all aspects of goods transportation
  • Negotiation of the shipment agreements for the projects
  • Planning, arranging and monitoring of shipments
  • Support in documentation creation for the shipments
  • Compliance related activities (Customs & AEO)
  • Support sales with freight related matters
  • Maintain transport processes within Wärtsilä Netherlands
  • Negotiation of the shipment agreements for the projects

 

What do we expect from you?
 

  • You hold a MBO degree or higher in, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms 2020
  • Experience within, supply chain management and logistics as well as knowledge in SAP (MM, PS, SD modules).
  • Experience in customs activities can be seen as benefit
  • You are a pro-active, team player with excellent communication skills, organizing, problem solving and able to come with out of the box solutions.
  • Good skills in MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Planning. .
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages both orally and in writing.
