Senior Customer Support Engineer

Reporting to the Regional Manager for Customer Support Europe, Middle East and Africa, we are looking for a Senior Field Support Engineer to join the Wärtsilä Voyage Services team.
The Field Support Engineer is responsible for performing Wärtsilä Voyage Navi-Sailor/Radar system installation and maintenance.
He / She represents the Voyage Customer Support team on-site to ensure work is completed professionally. Together with Support Coordinators and Technical Support Specialists he/she are “the face to the customer”.
Main Responsibilities:
- Stay-by onsite deployment based on Customer requests
- Adhere to service requests on date & time, location, scope of work and any other instructions
- Troubleshoot and inspect findings to determine source of problem, rectify or replace with Customers' agreement
- Escalate any issue beyond the service scope to responsible CS team/management
- Ensure Customer is briefed on worked performed and service report is prepared and signed off by Customer
- Ensure service work rendered complies with internal Service & Support processes
- Ensure compliance to Code of Business Conduct and Quality Management system requirements
- Support projects or other technical jobs required
- Provide support to and with our Technical Support experts when required.
What training do you need to succeed in this role?
Whilst relevant Maritime Engineering Training is advantageous, and we prefer applications from candidates with OEM Technical training certificates.We are looking for either a Degree or Diploma in one of more of the following:
- Engineering or Computer Technology
- Electronical/Electronics Engineering
- IT/Networking
What vocational experience makes you shine in this role?
- Technician or equivalent experiences in Marine Electronics.
- IT preferable
- Radar – advantageous
- Knowledge in ERP systems is preferred as our work orders/instructions and back-office functions interface with ERP systems
- Previous Navi-Sailor/Navi-xxxx training and certifications are a preference
- Must have a valid driving license

- Communication – English: Written and Verbal at advanced level (English minimum but another European language always a benefit)

- Flexibility – this role requires someone to be able to work from onboard vessels for extended periods of time (daily allowances and overtime payments in lieu)

Please note: When not on board/deployed to site there will be requirements to be able to work from our Dubai facility. Hybrid working is permitted within the business but not fully remote
