Market Development MBA Intern

Role Summary/Purpose
This internship role will drive progress and add immediate value to the Energy Storage and Optimization business at Wartsila by working on specific projects with the growth strategy team focused on US, or potentially global, energy storage market analysis, segmentation, and growth opportunity identification. 

 

The location for this internship will be Emeryville, CA and will follow a hybrid work model. 


3. Essential Responsibilities
This internship will focus on a small number of specific and timely projects, which could include:
•    Conduct detailed segmentation of grid-scale energy storage market with a focus on competitor offerings, business models, and market positionings.
•    Gather, process, and analyze data to support strategic planning and identify growth opportunities.
•    Develop tools and dashboards to visualize data and inform business decisions.
•    Evaluate product trends and innovations in the battery energy storage space, particularly around software-driven solutions.
•    Develop product marketing strategy together with the Marketing team. 

 

4. Qualifications/Requirements
•    Currently pursuing MBA or equivalent (masters-level degree in economics, engineering, applied mathematics, business or a related field).
•    Proficiency in Excel, Word, SharePoint, Confluence, Loop, Power BI. 
•    Ability to work independently with a high attention to detail and time management to produce high quality deliverables.

•    Robust knowledge of the clean energy market, especially battery energy storage
•    Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a passion for clean energy and sustainability.

•    The candidate must be able to embrace a fast, dynamic and collegial environment, comfortable with adjusting quickly to changing priorities and apt at identifying improvements where needed.

For applicants that reside in California, the hourly wage range is $24.13 - $34.00.
