Expert Navigational Simulator

 

We are intensively looking for a proactive Expert Navigational Simulator to join the Navigational Simulator team. The candidate will work on the market lead product Navi-Trainer Professional that is actively in use for seafarers’ education in thousands of maritime academies around the globe. The reason for hiring is active business and development team grows.

You will work in Scrum team on complex distributed system with tasks in many different domains from visual system to hardware integrations. The team believes in incremental delivery and works in close collaboration with customers.
Company-wide communications are in English. We strive to use only English for written technical communication.


This is a permanent role, the location is Helsinki, Finland

 

What you will be doing:

 

 

  • Participation in the development for a navigational simulator as a part of the product team
  • Participation in the product discovery process: hypotheses checking, writing user stories, working with customers
  • Manage product development backlog
  • Participate in the customer support process as the product expert

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ work experience in a relevant or same role
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Experience with product backlog management
  • Understanding of Agile principles
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and writing

 

Will be a plus:

 

 

  • Marine and/or engineering degree
  • Experience with bridge equipment (electronic charts, radar, communication systems etc)
  • Engineering skills (ability to connect devices, configure a local network, basic scripting skills)
