We are now looking for a  

 

Contract Manager

 

to join our team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Fareham, UK.

 

What you will be doing  

 

We are experiencing growth in our key customer base and are looking for a dedicated Contract Manager on a permanent contract to be based in the Wartsila office, Fareham, Uk and to be available to attend local customers offices as required.

As a Contract Manager you will maintain an optimised relationship with Key customers to help secure future business through collaboration and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will act as the interface between customer and Wartsila to promote and develop collaboration to ensure that agreements are executed in accordance with both Wartsila and customer expectations. The position will report to the Manager, agreement management Uk and Central Europe.
 

As Contract Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:  

 

  • Act as Contract Manager to fully align all external and internal stakeholders within Wartsila and the customer to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance agreements for the customer’s fleet.
  • Full responsibility for assigned contracts in accordance with Wärtsilä guidelines to ensure that the contract management process and general management practices are done safely and efficiently and exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a way of working and responsibility in collaboration with the customer.
  • Proactive customer communication and prevent escalation of issues buy close partnership discussions and quick action to developing situations.
  • Lead and coach the Agreement Contract core team.
  • Follow up and maintain customer satisfaction and ensure that agreed actions are taken
  • Follow up financial, operative and technical performance through reviews and reposting and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Individual and team working to ensure targets are met.

 

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:  

 

  • B.Sc. or equivalent within the technical area
  • At least five years’ experience in contract management and/or sales, project delivery or field service.
  • Proven technical experience in marine operations.
  • Internal Combustion engine and auxiliaries experience in marine operations.
  • Cost awareness and effectiveness
  • Negotiation skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage conflicting deadlines.
  • Understanding of Hybrid solutions desirable.

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%.
