Global Employer Brand Expert

Wärtsilä is an innovative technology company known for being a forerunner in the Marine and Energy markets. Every day, we – Wärtsilians - put our hearts and minds into turning Wärtsilä's purpose of enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services into reality. Our ultimate aim is to provide increased value to both our customers and society. New, game-changing ideas and continuous improvement have been part of our DNA since 1834. Together, we can create new business opportunities and more sustainable future that we can all be proud of.

We want to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future. By pushing the boundaries of engineering and technology, we can make it work. We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent – want to join the ride?

Be the voice that shapes the future of marine & energy

At Wärtsilä, we believe transforming our industries will transform society. With 88% of the world's goods shipped by sea and the power and heat sector generating 38% of global CO2 emissions, marine and energy industries hold the roadmap to net zero. That's where our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), Fuel your power™, comes in. It's more than an award-winning programme (four Magnet Awards and an International Digital Communications Award); it's a reflection of our forward-looking culture and how we perform, grow, and lead. Recognised by Forbes as one of the World's Best Employers 2025, we're building a workplace where innovation thrives, and people drive meaningful change.

The bar is set high, and we’re now looking for a Global Employer Brand Expert to run our EVP, turning strategy into action and finding new ways to bring Fuel your Power™ to life across channels, markets, and talent communities worldwide.

This role is based in the main Wärtsilä offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, and Finland. It offers a hybrid working model, with the expectation of being present in the office as needed to collaborate and connect with colleagues.

About the team

You’ll join Wärtsilä’s Talent & Leadership Community of Expertise (CoE), a global HR team shaping how we attract, engage, develop, and retain top talent. This role is deeply connected to our business success: every year, we hire over 3,000 professionals worldwide, and with around 40% of those roles directly billable, a strong employer brand isn’t just about reputation, it drives performance and growth.

To be successful in this role, you’ll work closely with HR CoEs, Business HR, TA professionals, brand, marketing and communications experts, and business leaders across all levels to ensure our EVP resonates globally and locally.

What you will do

Employer Brand Leadership

  • Design and deliver our global employer branding and EVP roadmap, defining clear priorities, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Lead the creation of compelling messaging and creative concepts that resonate with diverse audiences and reflect our brand's bold, forward-thinking voice.
  • Amplify our EVP across social media, career platforms, and internal channels, ensuring every touchpoint tells the Fuel your Power story.

Employee Advocacy Programme Leadership

  • Own, lead, and further develop our Employee Advocacy Programme, currently comprising 270 advocates globally who champion our EVP through authentic, local, and global activations.
  • Provide guidance, toolkits, and training to ensure our brand is consistently represented.

Digital Presence & Career Hub

  • Lead the renewal of our internal Career Hub and continuously improve our external career pages, ensuring they deliver an engaging, EVP-driven user experience.
  • Drive internal EVP awareness by actively communicating and keeping stakeholders informed across the organisation.

What you bring

  • 5+ years experience in brand, communications, or marketing roles combined with 3+ years of hands-on employer branding experience.
  • Experience of recruitment is a plus.
  • Proven skills in project management and stakeholder engagement, with a strong data-driven approach.
  • Strong storytelling skills and experience in leading creative productions.
  • Ability to produce and deliver impactful presentations in English.
  • Solid expertise in digital platforms, social media, and HR communications.
  • This is an individual contributor role requiring the ability to drive initiatives end-to-end, while effectively influencing and collaborating across a global, cross-functional matrix organisation without direct reports.

Why you and us?
